LITURGY
EMHCs, LEctors, and altar servers
Looking to become an EMHC, lector, or altar server at our parish? We are always looking for new ministers to assist our priests during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve the Church. If you are interested, please contact Tim Kerr (tskerr@archomaha.org) to begin the registration and mandation process. If you are already registered, be sure to look for the most recent ministry schedule, which is updated and sent to your e-mail every 3 months.
In order to serve as a lector or EMHC, you must be in good standing with the Church and have received all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation). High school students who are juniors or seniors are also eligible to become EMHCs. Volunteer EMHCs are also needed to distribute Holy Communion to our homebound parishioners; contact the parish office for more information.
Boys and girls in grades 4 through 8 may serve as altar servers. They will assist the priest and deacon at the altar and carry the cross and candles in procession. A formal mandation is not required, but there will be a training session at the parish.
COMMUNION TO THE SICK
Each Sunday, volunteers help bring Holy Communion to the homebound, the sick, and to assisted living facilities. For more information, contact Tom Fryda,
402-657-9441 or
tafryda@gmail.com.
Ushers
Are you interested in helping our masses run smoothly? Ushers assure the comfort of the assembly in the church and perform various functions during the liturgy. One of the most important duties that the usher has is that of hospitality. The usher represents the rest of the assembly in offering welcoming hospitality for all who come to our parish. Ushers ensure that the church is in order before, during and after the celebration of Mass. They help to identify open seats and guide the assembly to those seats. They also provide assistance in emergencies. Contact the parish office at 402-493-2186 if you are interested.
MAss for the homebound
The "Mass for Shut-Ins" can be viewed each Sunday on WOWT (Channel 6) at 10:30am. More information about this program can be found
here.
You can also find a link to previously recorded masses
here.
EWTN also records a live mass each week and this can be found here.
VOCATIONS ROSARY
A rosary for vocations is led before every weekend mass. Leaders follow a schedule organized by the Vocations Committee. The Vocations Committee meets as needed to foster the support of religious vocations among us. They lead a Holy Hour of Adoration every Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. after the 5:30 p.m. Mass for an increase in religious vocations. They promote family prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life by providing the Traveling ICONS to be used in homes of parishioners weekly.
