A Marriage Encounter Weekend
What is Marriage Encounter? Marriage Encounter is a heart-to-heart encounter with the one person you have chosen to share the rest of your life with, to let them know, in no uncertain terms, your intention and your heart's desire. The weekend enables couples to concentrate on each other while freeing them from the distractions and tensions of everyday life.
It's neither a retreat nor marriage clinic. It is not a counseling session. It is a unique approach aimed at revitalizing Christian Marriage.
Who is Marriage Encounter for? It is for any married couple who desire a richer, fuller life together. The weekend is designed for couples who have a good marriage and wish to improve their communication. A marriage can never be too good.
What happens at a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend? A series of presentations are given by a team of Catholic couples and a Catholic priest. Each presentation provides a husband and wife with a rare opportunity to look at themselves as individuals, their marriage relationship together, and their relationship with God. The weekend starts at 8pm Friday evening and ends at 4pm Sunday afternoon.
Each married couple has a room of their own for quiet time and sharing.
How much does the weekend cost? The only required cost is the Registration Fee. This fee confirms your food and lodging. There will also be an opportunity for an anonymous free-will donation at the end of the weekend. If there is a need, scholarships can be made available
After the weekend, small groups are available in the S.E.A. area, or in other parts of Omaha, for monthly grouping of couples for insightful and fun looks at situations of marriage. These groups usually meet once a month in scheduled couples homes. These get togethers are not mandatory, but are a fun way to grow your marriage and share insights. Small groups are a fun way to connect you as a couple to your faith community.
